ZEL Ungheni-Business awarded at Trademark of the Year contest

The consultancy services provided in the free enterprise zone ZEL Ungheni-Business were awarded at the Trademark of the Year 2011 contest that was held by the Chamber of Trade and Industry and the State Agency on Intellectual Property, Info-Prim Neo reports. The zone’s administrator Natalia Iepuras said there are 33 resident companies in the zone, including 20 producers of industrial goods intended for export. “2011 was a good year for Ungheni-Business, especially as regards the production for export. We are the leading zone of the seven free enterprise zones of Moldova by this index. The net sales of products intended for export totaled over €700 million,” stated the administrator. Two new resident companies were registered in 2011. The joint Moldovan-Belgian company Euro Yarns plans to produce synthetic fibers and to sell them in Poland, Belgium and the CIS countries. 30% of the merchandise will be supplied to the resident ZEL Moldabela for making carpets. Euro Yarns invested over €6 million in equipment. It has over 58 employees. The second resident is Ruby Rose Cosmetics from Lebanon. It will start work in the first quarter of this year and plans to sell cosmetic products of about €500,000 to Russia, Ukraine and Romania. The company will employ 60 persons. As many as 2 100 persons work in the free enterprise zone ZEL Ungheni-Business.
