Zdobs hurt in traffic accident
Moldova's most famed ethno-rock band “Zdob si Zdub” was involved in a traffic accident last night in which all the members of the band suffered various injuries.
Dr. Anatol Proca of the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident occurred in the suburban town of Vadul lui Voda. The van carrying the artists was violently struck by a Volkswagen MPV, driven by a heavily drunk man.
The band's lead Roman Iagupov suffered trauma of the left knee, while the other members of the band and their driver ended up with bone fractures and brain concussions.
A female occupant of the Volkswagen, also heavily drunk, sustained cerebral contusion.
Two days ago, another Moldovan rock band “Gândul Mâţei” was involved in a traffic accident in Romania.
Today at 4:30 in the morning, a 28-year-old male pedestrian was fatally struck by a Ford car in the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and Eminescu Street.
On Friday, June 6, another man, 30, died after his motor scooter was struck in a hit-and-run 6 km from the suburban village of Bacioi.
Over the past day and night, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 701 calls, including 52 cases of acute viroses, 58 cases of trauma and 9 brain strokes.
