Zalina Marghiev wins bronze
Moldovan athlete Zalina Marghiev won a bronze medal at the European Cup Winter Throwing that closed in Bulgaria's capital Sofia on March 20, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In women's hammer throwing, Zalina scored the result of 71.96 meters, being outstripped by Russia's Tatiana Lysenko and Germany's Betty Heidler. Zalina's sister Marina Marghiev ranked fifth with the result of 70.21 m.
In 2010, Zalina won gold in this competition, but in the up to 23 years category.
In the European Cup in Bulgaria, Zalina's brother Sergiu finished ninth in youth hammer throwing.
In javelin throwing, Moldova's Valeria Lungu ranked 13th.
More than 250 athletes from 34 countries took part in the 11th European Cup Winter Throwing.
