Zalina Marghiev qualified to finals
Zalina Marghiev qualified on Friday, June 29, to the hammer throw finals of the European Athletics Championship, which takes place in Helsinki, Finland. The Moldovan sportswoman ranked 2nd in the qualifying round with a throw of 69.86 meters, reports Info-Prim Neo.
Zalina’s elder sister, Marina, achieved a lower result in this discipline, 65.44 meters, and missed a chance at the finals on July 1.
Another representative from Moldova, Alexandru Cuharenco, ranked 20th in long jump and will not participate in the finals.
Tonight, Ion Luchianov will fight for a medal in the finals of the 3000m steeplechase.
