Zalina Marghiev finishes 8th in Olympic hammer throw

Zalina Marghiev occupied the 8th place in the hammer throw final at the Olympic Games in London, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Moldovan athlete's best effort of her six attempts was measured at 74.06 meters. Russia’s Tatiana Lisenko became Olympic champion. Zalina’s elder sister was supposed to participate in the competition as well, but tested positive at an anti-doping control before the Olympics. In the last day of the Games, Moldova will be represented by Iaroslav Musinschi and Roman Prodius in the marathon competition. Also on Sunday, free wrestler Nicolae Ceban will perform as well. Moldova won two bronze medals at the London Olympics thanks to weightlifters Cristina Iovu and Anatol Caracu. The medals table is topped by the United States of America with 41 gold, 26 silver and 27 bronze. Moldova shares the 70th place with 4 other countries that won only two bronze medals.
