Yuschenko tells Naftogaz to find solutions for Moldova's gas supplies

Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko instructed the state-run energy company Naftogaz to identify technicals solutions in order to supply gas to the Republic of Moldova, the Moldovan governmental press service said in a communique, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Moldovan Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanyi visited Kiev today to meet with the Ukrainian president for discussions on gas supplies. “Zinaida Greceanyi expressed her indignation at the fact that consumers in Moldova have to suffer the consequences of the arguments between Gazprom and Naftogaz”, the communique reads. According to Viktor Yuschenko, quoted by the same communique, the invitation to the meeting was made in order to identify common solutions to the problems of Russian gas deliveries, “because Moldova is a friend which Ukraine wants to help”. On January 15, Senior Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon said Moldova was being constantly provided with gas from Ukraine through two pipelines, but amounts we limited. Heating oil stocks were said to be enough for another 8 to 10 days.
