The 14th Youth Summer School "Dniester-2022" was organized by the International Association of River Keepers "Eco-Tiras" from July 8 to 17, 2022, in the Village of Molovata Noua, Dubasari district, on the left bank of the Dniester River. It was attended by 70 young people (aged 15-21), with an equal representation of the left and right banks.
The upbringing of civic responsibility for everything that happens in the country was the reason for holding public hearings on an important environmental topic - on the consequences of the possible adoption and implementation of legislative proposal No 174 din 10 mai 2022. It is about measures to develop navigation on the Dniester. At the same time, all environmental reviews and restrictions are canceled due to the declared economic importance of the law. In this regard, the participants of the Summer School independently analyzed the draft law and identified many negative consequences from its implementation if approved by the Parliament. The participants of the summer school themselves organized public hearings on this bill, creating groups of "supporters" - the government and parliament, interested businesses, and "critics" - the media and the public. The arguments were so heated that often the participants could not get out of their roles even after the end of the public hearings, when both of them embraced. Based on the results of the hearings, the participants wrote a conclusion on legislative proposal 174/2022, which they signed and sent to the President, the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister and all members of the government. The 14th Youth Summer School “Dniester-2022” was organized in frames of the BSB963 project of the EU Black Sea Operational Program, the UNDP Moldova Confidence Building Program under the “Environmental Platform” project (both funded by the European Union) and the project of the German Environment Agency “ CapaMol" through the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (Berlin).
