Youth promised benefits in return for consent to work in villages
The young specialists who will accept to work in villages after graduation could benefit from low interest rate housing loans. The proposal was made by President Vladimir Voronin at a Government summing-up meeting on December 26, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Vladimir Voronin, the loans should be of 200,000 to 300,000 lei, which should be enough to build a house, while the state should repay the interest.
In addition, to alleviate the demographical problem of the country, the president suggested a progressive discount off the offered loan, from 25% to 100%, for the families of young specialists having babies.
Vladimir Voronin says the demographical problems and the improvement of the living standards must constitute a priority of the national policies, as the forecasts are not so promising when it comes to workforce. According to the president, the goal is to raise the average monthly salary to USD 300 until 2009 and to EUR 500 after 2009.
As for unemployment in Moldova, the president said the rate is very low compared to other European countries – just 4%. In his words, those who are not employed are that type of persons who enjoy idling, because there are plenty of jobs in Moldova.
