Youth Peer Education Network recruiting national trainers

The Youth Peer Education Network Y-PEER is recruiting national trainers for instructing participants within the network for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people from 12 districts of Moldova, IPN reports.

Contacted by IPN’s reporter, Y-PEER director Ana Susarenco said the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the creation of a communication environment are important for helping the young people to take correct decisions in the future.

“So far the team of national trainers organized seminars and roundtable meetings in national lyceums and discussed and analyzed problems related to sexual education, family planning, responsibility of being a parent, methods of preventing sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. There are also discussed aspects of HIV prevention,” stated Ana Susarenco. She added that the educational activities until now involved over 9,000 teens.

Created in 2004, the Y-PEER Moldova Network was registered as an independent NGO in 2013. Its goal is to offer the young people knowledge, abilities and life skills for taking responsible decisions on the own health. To become a Y-PEER member, those interested can apply on ypeer.md by May 12.
