The Chisinau Youth Orchestra opens the summer season with an extraordinary open-air concert in Dendrariu Park in the capital city on July 17. In the concert entitled “Voilà Viola”, the classical notes will merge with the pop music rhythms on the same stage, IPN reports.
According to the organizers, the concert is staged after three days of masterclasses given to the involved artists by violin teacher Cristian Ladislau-Andris from Romania, who worked out the conception “Voilà Viola”. In the concert, he will perform alongside four Moldovan violinists and one Romanian violinist.
The over 600 spectators expected to come to the concert will listen to works by Bach, Faure, Manuel de Falla and to songs of such pop stars as Michael Jackson, Sting, Coldplay and Avicii, sitting in very comfortable chairs in the shadow and drinking juice served gratis.
“The viola is the elder sister of the violin and the younger sister of the violoncello. It has a unique sonority and is very versatile even if it is often an auxiliary orchestral instrument. We decided to give this concert, which is a kind of exam for the instrumentalists who took part in the masterclasses, namely in order to present this noble instrument to the public,” said Andriano Marian, conductor and coordinator of the Chisinau Youth Orchestra.
The concert starts at 7pm. More information about it can be found on the Facebook page of the Chisinau Youth Orchestra and on www.cyo.md.
The concert “Voilà Viola” forms part of the summer program of the Chisinau Youth Orchestra, entitled “Follow your Passion”. It was launched in June by an exclusive flashmob event in trolleybuses running on routes in Chisinau. The young instrumentalists, who study at the most important education centers in Chisinau, come home on vacation to give unique concerts for the Chisinau public.
