Minister of Youth and Sport Octavian Bodisteanu defected from the Liberal Reformist Party (PLR). In a press briefing on November 6, Bodisteanu said it was not an easy decision, but it is a conscious one, IPN reports.

“I think that the team of the Liberal Reformist Party played a very important, historical role in saving the pro-European course, but the circumstances created today show there are certain games of which I do not want to form part,” said the minister.

Octavian Bodiateanu was named Minister of Youth and Sport at the end of last May, at the suggestion of the Liberal Reformist Party. He is not on the PLR’s list of candidates for the November 30 parliamentary elections.
