Youth from Transnistria will benefit from extra 450 seats in higher education institutions and vocational schools in Moldova
The Government will provide an additional 450 seats in the admission plan for higher education establishments and vocational schools, signed and approved on May 28, 2007. These 450 seats will be distributed by the Ministry of Youth and Education (MET) for candidates applying to institutions from Transnistria.
Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev asked the MET for an additional analysis of the current situation with the view to ensuring that applicants from Transnistria are offered sufficient seats in educational institutions, financed by the State Budget.
370 seats will be given for admissions in higher education institutions, 80 - for specialised professional schools. 285 seats will be distributed for admissions in higher education institutions managed by the MET and 50 of these for specialised professional schools, managed by the same ministry.
30 seats will be given for those candidates applying for institutions managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, while 10 seats for lower level specialised studies.
The Health Ministry will distribute 40 and 20 seats in these two types of educational institutions.
The admission plan included initially 8,245 scholarships financed by the higher education institutions and 5,435 seats for lower level specialised institutions.
