Youth address social issues through theater
Nine teams of young people from different districts will participate on Sunday, June 26, at the Social Theater Festival. They will stage plays about their preoccupations, such as migration, human trafficking, violence in the family, preventing HIV/AIDS and the risks of teenage years, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to organizers, the Y-PEER network, through the plays, the participants will demand their rights for a safe and healthy lifestyle. They will also compete for the best Social Theater team. This is a method of non-formal education, through which educational messages are transmitted to young people in an interactive and motivating way. Thus, the information is better received.
The jury of the contest will include representatives of the Ministry of Education, of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, of the UN Agency in Moldova, of youth organizations and professional actors.
This is the second edition of the festival. It will take place on Sunday, between11 AM and 4 PM, within the Ginta Latina Theater.
The Social Theater will open 10 days of activities organized by Y-PEER within the International Youth Year, launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the UN.
