A young woman died when the BMW car in which she travelled changed lanes and violently collided head-on with a truck last night. The driver and another passenger of the BMW are police employees and preliminary examinations spewed these were inebriated, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the accident happened on the M-5 road in Recea village of Rascani district. The 22-year-old driver of the BMW from Recea was heading for Rascani town. This tried to overtake a vehicle and ran into an truck driven by a man aged 47 that was coming from the opposite direction.

There were three passengers in the BMW – two woman and a man aged between 19 and 33. As a result of the impact, one of the young women died on the spot. The other passengers and the driver suffered injuries and were taken to the Rascani District Hospital.

The police officer who drove the car is to be arrested and investigated. The other circumstances of the accident are yet to be established.
