The body of a 20-year-old woman was found this morning in Ungheni city. She was half-naked and lying with her face down on the bank of a small river.

Ungheni Police spokesperson Cristina Vicol told IPN no signs of trauma were visible on the body.

The victim was identified as an unemployed woman who used to live with her socially vulnerable family. Last night she went to see a fried of hers in Ungheni, where they consumed alcohol. Reportedly she headed back home at around 11PM.

A forensic examination will be conducted in a Călărași lab. The police initiated a criminal investigation.
