Ukrainian refugee teenagers and young people will have access to friendly services as part of programs at three youth centers in the municipality of Chisina – two branches of the Municipal Youth Center in Ciocana and Centru districts and the Youth Center TohaTEEN HUB in Tohatin commune of the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.
Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban, in the event to launch the initiative, said the municipality’s goal is to engage at least 2,000 young Ukrainian refugees in nonformal education activities by integrating them into the programs of youth centers. This way, they will develop skills to communicate and interact with mates under the guidance of 20 youth workers. Hundreds of Ukrainian children and young people have been integration into education institutions of the municipality of Chisinau, starting from kindergartens and ending with lyceums.
The “Pro Bono” Information and Resource Center and UNICEF Moldova, together with the Chisinau City Hall and the Municipal Youth Center Chisinau, will equip the three young centers, one of which will be mobile. The teens and young people from the municipality of Chisinau, together with those from Ukraine, will have access to personal development programs, psychological support, sports and artistic activities, society games, cooking activities
The list of available activities and their schedule can be seen on information stands at youth centers, on information boards at placement centers for refugees and online.
According to Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council, over 900 Ukrainian refugee children have been enrolled at kindergartens and schools in the municipality of Chisinau.
