Young PPCD members hold news conference at Central Market in Chisinau

The young candidates for MP of the Christian-Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) Wednesday held a news conference at a counter at the Central Market in Chisinau, saying that this way they show that Moldova does not need intermediaries. “The intermediaries raise the prices two-three times until the products reach the consumers,” said the PPCD candidate Victor Ciobanu, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The PPCD proposes a bill whereby the local public authorities commit themselves to issue permits of producer to all the national producers. These permits will enable them to sell on the market avoiding the intermediaries. “We also want to revise Moldova’s export policy,” Victor Ciobanu said, adding that Romania and Ukraine must be the strategic partners of Moldova. The PPCD says that the national producer should be supported by the state by different subventions and substantial tax relief. “The foreign products enter easily Moldova and are much cheaper than the national ones,” said Sergiu Rabei, another PPCD candidate. “The Republic of Moldova can become a leading regional exporter of agricultural products only with the help of the state, which pledges to invest in this sector, optimize the lending conditions for the national producers and grant preferential loans,” Rabei said. The PPCD will be under No. 2 in ballots. The Christian-Democratic leader Iurie Rosca, vice presidents Vlad Cubreacov and Stefan Secareanu and the leader of the PPCD faction in the CMC Alexandru Corduneanu have not been included in the party’s electoral list. The first seven positions in the list are taken by members of the New Generation. In the April 5 elections, the PPCD polled 3.04% of the vote. The election threshold was 6%.
