Young PLDM members give advice to applicants to universities
The Youth Organization of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) on Tuesday launched the drive ‘I Want to Be a Student”. Young Liberal-Democrats, who are students or graduates, will provide the persons applying to universities with information about the necessary documents and faculties, Info-Prim Neo reports.
At a news conference, the president of the Youth Organization of the PLDM George Mocanu said that the young persons will go to the most important education establishments every morning, carrying the badge “Admission 2009. Ask Us!” Also, a group of students will provide consultancy to those that want to study in Romania. They will be near the Romanian Consulate, where the applications for admission are being submitted. The drive will last until July 27.
“The last years saw a continuous decline in the number of students. Only 60% of the 30,000 high school graduates will be able to study at universities. The authorities destroy especially the faculties of history and science,” said Neghina Azizov, a member of the Organization. The places at the departments of politics and international relations were reduced significantly, she added.
At the same news conference, the young Liberal-Democrats accused the authorities of hindering the young generation’s access to information.
The leader of the Bessarabian students in Iasi Dan Caranfil said that he had stayed for several hours in Leuseni customs on July 18. In the end, the customs officers confiscated his laptop. Caranfil told that he was returning to Chisinau in a ride car together with six persons.
“When we entered the customs, they took away our passports. The border guards checked all the laptops. After waiting for several hours, they returned the passports to the other persons. I got to Chisinau accompanied by three individuals, who confiscated my computer,” Dan Caranfil said, adding that he will sue the government authorities for violating his right to information.
