Young persons help visually impaired win City Hall prize for cleanest yard

A group of young persons aims to win the Chisinau City Hall’s prize for the cleanest yard by cleaning up a yard of an apartment building where there live many blind and visually impaired persons. They mobilized through a social networking site, collected money for paint and lime and brought with them garden tools, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Chisinau City Hall stages the Cleanup Day “Come on, Chisinau!” on March 31. There will be offered a prize for the cleanest yard, consisting of laying out works to the value of up to 100,000 lei. The event involves members of the Ferocious Crowd, who are supporters of the football team Zimbru Chisinau. “Maybe the mayor will appreciate out deeds and will give one of the promised sums for laying out this yard. We all know that these people encounter difficulties. The mayor should help those who are in need as the healthy ones can do everything by themselves,” said Veaceslav, one of the organizers and a fan of Zimbru. Ten young people are cleaning up the yard located on Drumul Viilor St. In winter, they collected food products and toys and donated them to a Chisinau orphanage.
