Forty young people with hearing impairments from the two banks of the Nistru River will be familiarized with their right to employment within the project “Say No to Discrimination”. The project is implemented by the Association of Deaf Children of Moldova, in partnership with the Tiraspol Rehabilitation and Counseling Center for Yong People with Mental and Physical Development Disabilities “Osorc”. The initiative is supported financially by the European Union.
In a news conference at IPN, Veronica Capatici, head of the Association of Deaf Children of Moldova, said the initiated project aims to contribute to increasing the social inclusion of the disadvantaged young people from the two banks of the Nistru and envisions exchange of experience between young persons. The project is also designed to sensitize the employers to the professional abilities of people with disabilities.
Specialists from both banks of the Nistru will work out a practical guide that will help the young people with disabilities to find a job. It will be printed in Romanian and Russian. There will be also implemented a program of information and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities.
The young people will be taught how to prepare for an interview and how to write a CV. There will be staged seminars with employers who will be motivated to hire disabled young people. Afterward, there will be held a job fair where persons with disabilities will be able to find a job.
The project will be implemented between November 2013 and November 2014.
