A number of organizations of Bessarabian students of Romania made a call for general mobilization for the November 13 runoff presidential elections of Moldova. The call was initiated by current and former members of student organizations who, during two weeks, will carry out a broad campaign to mobilize the Moldovan people who will be on Romania’s territory on Election Day and convince them to vote, IPN reports.
The campaign, called symbolically “Vote for Bessarabia”, was launched on Facebook. The young people are invited to confirm their presence at the polls on November 13 and to pass the call on, to all the friends, so that the voter turnout is much higher in the runoff elections.
“If the disappointment, despair and distrust in the political class of Moldova could be invoked as arguments to justify, at least partially, the low turnout in the first round of voting, none of these can be invoked in the runoff. On November 13, the vote will not be for one candidate or another. It will be for Russia or for the European Union,” says the call.
Among the signatories are the Center for Integration and Development PRUT, the Organization of Bessarabian Students of Bucharest, the Organization of Bessarabian Students of Constanta, the Association of Bessarabian Students of Oradea, the Association of Young Romanians Outside Borders of Iasi, and the Initiative Group of Romanians from Bessarabia of Suceava.
Eleven polling stations were established on the territory of Romanian for the Moldovan presidential elections, in Bucharest (two), Iasi, Galati, Constanta, Suceava, Bacau, Brasov, Cluj, Timisoara, and Craiova.
