Young people want to return to Moldova to support democratic changes
A number of 27 young Moldovans who completed or are to complete their studies abroad have applied so far for the program of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which is aimed at convincing as many persons as possible to return to Moldova after graduation by offering them jobs.
National IOM consultant Viorica Olaru-Cemartan has told Info-Prim Neo that the applications came from Sweden, the UK, France, Romania, Italy, Germany, and the U.S. The applicants range from specialists in law, international law, economy, management, IT and Web Design to doctors and specialists in science, chemistry, microbiology and genetics.
“The young people left abroad to enrich their knowledge and want to return and implement them in their native country. Some of them say that Moldova is now in a period when it needs the support of the people who were in democratic countries and saw models of democracy. Others argued that they miss the native place and the parents,” Viorica Olaru-Cemartan said. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
The contest is open to Moldovans aged younger than 35 who studied or are studying abroad and want to return to Moldova on a temporary or a permanent basis to work for private or public institutions. The IOM will provide support in identifying the employers, logistic and administrative support and financial assistance to cover beneficiaries’ travel expenses and monthly allowances for a period of up to six months.
