Young persons from several regions of the country distributed greetings in Chisinau on the occasion of the International Youth Day marked in the UN member states on August 12. The measure is part of the Moldovan Youth for Peace Project, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We want to draw the young people’s attention to this holiday and remind them that there is one more day in the year that we should observe. We want that all the young people remain young in the soul forever,” said Andrei Pascari, of the Association of Ukrainian Young People in Moldova “Zlagoda”. “We will go though the city and tell everybody that we have a day on which we should smile, be united, bring peace and joy,” said Elena Alexei, a young woman from Tiraspol, who took part in the drive. “The young people are tomorrow’s future. I wish them all to fight for their goals and not be afraid of difficulties. The life is interesting,” said project coordinator Ion Gherman. The young persons that shared out greetings in the street are participating in debates centering on the fundamental human rights, culture, peace and civic education between August 10 and 15. The Moldovan Youth for Peace Project is implemented by the Association of Ukrainian Young People in Moldova “Zlagoda” with support from the European Youth Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Youth and the Interethnic Relations Bureau.
