Young people protested until darkness fell

The young people who on November 14 expressed their dissatisfaction with the way in which the presidential runoff was conducted protested until darkness fell. They demanded that the presidential elections should be rerun and sang patriotic songs and lit candles, IPN reports.

After protesting for about two hours in front of the head office of the Central Election Commission, where they demanded that the Commission’s administration should be dismissed, the crowd marched to the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy, where it continued to protest. The protesters chanted “Down with Dodon!”, “We want new elections!” and “We want independent CEC!”.

The people, who were mainly young, said they want the elections to be rerun because the Transnistrian voters were offered conditions of voting, while the Moldovans from the diaspora were not.

The young people said the protest will continue in front of the Lyceum “Gh.Asachi” in Chisinau starting at 11am on November 15.
