Young people promote human rights by dance

About 30 volunteers of the Nondiscrimination Coalition and the Association for Creative Development Monday held a flashmob meeting in Chisinau, themed “Different, but Equal” on the occasion of the Human Rights Day that is marked on December 10, Info-Prim Neo reports. Project coordinator Ana Furtuna said that the flashmobbing consisted of a dance of young people who this way celebrate the Human Rights Day, especially because this year was a tense one in connection with the voting of a number of laws on nondiscrimination. Similar flashmob meetings were staged in another 11 settlements of the country, where there were distributed brochures and bannerettes on the event’s theme. According to a communiqué from the Nondiscrimination Coalition, the human rights in Moldova continue to be recurrently violated, the persons being most often discriminated or tortured. The people say they are often deprived of the right to a decent living, the right to work, the right to equitable education and the right to public health services. The experts consider that the Moldovan lawyers do not have the necessary training in human rights and need additional preparation in this field.
