The sexual orientation can be learned and the young people prefer homosexuality because they enjoy attention and special benefits, said the president of the U.S. Family Research Institute Paul Cameron, who made reference to the results of a major study carried out in the U.S.
In a news conference at IPN, the sociologist said that an unprecedented growth in homosexuality has been witnessed among U.S. teens during the last few years. This confirms the assertions that homosexuality is catching.
The study shows that heterosexuality during the last 25 years decreased by 5%, while homosexuality rose by 60%. “Also, we see that the number of those who are confused about their sexuality is on the rise,” stated Paul Cameron.
According to the study, the persons who reported that they had homosexual relations turned out to be more predisposed to quarrels, to bearing guns, to suicide attempts, to taking drugs and to smoking. These had more mental health problems, faced alcoholism and, in general, caused personal and social problems. The heterosexuals are those who reported being least involved in taking drugs and drinking bouts.
The sociologist said the U.S. Government is trying to equalize homosexuality and sexuality and to promote it as something normal, including in the American schools. It does not know how to fix the problems of young homosexuals, but the attempt to make the young homosexuals feel better did nothing but increase homosexuality and reduce the number of heterosexuals.
As regards Moldova, Paul Cameron said the U.S. Government, the United Nations and some of the European and Scandinavian states encourage legalizing homosexuality and treating it as something normal, including in Moldova.
The study covered about 200,000 ninth-twelfth graders.
