Ten youth teams from ten districts of Moldova performed on Saturday, November 17, several theater plays on topical themes, at the 3rd edition of the National Social Theater Festival, Info-Prim Neo reports. Festival organizer Ana Susarenco said that the participants are pupils of various schools and lyceums and have little knowledge in the theater field. The themes are presented from the perspective of the youth’s most common problems. “The festival joins the youth from both banks of the Nistru and tackles the problems they face. Some teams participate for the third time, others for the first. After the festival, the young people will return to their schools and play the sketches one more time to raise the awareness of more people”, said Ana Susarenco. She added that the prizes will be awarded according to the sketches’ themes. There will be awards for the fields of migration, reproductive health and alcohol consumption by youth. The sketches must be no longer than 15 minutes. The National Social Theater Festival is organized by the Peer to Peer Educators Network (Y-PEER) Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the UNFPA.
