“Young People for Moldova” call on French people to apologize to Moldovan women
The Association “Young People for Moldova” demands that the French foundation “Scelles” apologize to the Moldovan young women as the foundation’s president made a mistake when he announced that, according to a study, seven of ten Moldovan women aged between 15 and 25 prostituted themselves at least once, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Several weeks ago, when presenting a study, “Scelles” president Yves Charpenel said that 70% of the women aged between 15 to 25 in Moldova prostituted themselves at least once. In reality, the study said that 70% of the Moldovan women who prostituted themselves at least once are aged between 15 and 25.
The Association “Young People for Moldova” sent an open letter to the foundation’s president, Moldovan and European officials and the Embassy of France in Moldova, whereby they ask denying this information. They also asked the Acting President and the Premier to react by diplomatic ways so as to obtain public apologies from “Scelles”. “Otherwise, these officials can be suspected of agreeing with those statements,” the Association’s head Irina Creciun said in a news conference.
The Association called upon the Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel to condemn the discriminatory attitude of some public organizations from the EU member states towards the countries that want to join the European community.
If the foundation “Scelles” does not react within seven days, the Association “Young People for Moldova” reserves the right to go to international courts.
