The mass media does not sufficiently promote the activities of the young people. This is a conclusion reached by the participants in the second workshop organized by the National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM) within the CNTM Café Project, Info-Prim Neo reports. CNTM Café project director Aurelia Petrov said that though the mass media addresses subjects concerning the youth, in most of the cases they do not refer to young social players. Dumitru Ciorici, content manager of a media portal, stressed that the mass media provide insufficient attention to subjects centering on the youth. On the other hand, the members of the youth organizations that want their products to become known should think how to attract the attention of the media. When everybody thinks how to obtain audience, the young people should think how to attract journalists to report on topics that concern them, said Dumitru Ciorici. The workshop themed “Efficient methods of promoting youth activities in the mass media” is the second organized by the National Youth Council within the CNTM Café Project. The workshops are aimed at ensuring exchanges of practices between young people, putting ideas into practice and familiarizing young people with issues of public interest, contributing thus to the development of society. Within the six workshops planned by the National Youth Council, the young people will address subjects concerning the initiative to give the vote at 16 and legislative initiatives aimed at developing youth activities. The CNTM Café Project is implemented with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development within the Academy for Educational Development’s Moldova Civil Society Strengthening Program.
