Young Moldovans can apply for scholarships offered by German Bundestag

In 2017 too, the German Bundestag gives well qualified Moldovan young people with a strong interest in politics the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of Germany’s system of parliamentary government within the International Parliamentary Scholarship program. When the program is completed, these people return home with the wish to actively and responsibly take part in building a democratic future for their country. The program lasts from March 1 until July 31, 2017, while the selected young people will receive a monthly scholarship of €500, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Embassy of Germany in Moldova, the participants will get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes during a 15-week work placement with a Member of the German Bundestag. The scholars will be selected by an independent panel of the Bundestag.

The insurance costs in case of disease, accidents and civil liability for students and the administrative taxes and social insurance contributions will be covered additionally. The scholarship of €500 a month includes free accommodation. If the participants have own lodging, these will be offered €300 a month for the relate costs. The travel expenses to and from Berlin will also be covered.
