Two men aged 24 and 28 from Pelenia village of Drochia district died last night in a road accident near the settlement. The car with the two young men inside crashed violently into a tree. The police established that the vehicle was speeding, IPN reports.
As a result of the collision, the driver died on the spot, while the passenger in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Sources in the Pelenia mayor’s office have told IPN that the passenger returned recently from abroad, while the driver worked in Chisinau.
In a similar accident near Stefan Voda town several days ago, two police officers aged 22 and 24 were killed, while an 18-year-old girl suffered injuries and was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition. Their vehicle went off the road and crashed into a roadside tree.
