Young men enrolled in ‘Transnistrian army’ could study at university in parallel

The supreme soviet of the self-proclaimed republic of Transnistria adopted a proposal submitted by the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky whereby the young men conscripted into the local ‘army’ are allowed to study in parallel at university, based on part-time or full-time programs, IPN reports, quoting the local press.

The young people will be able to take off for the period of the winter examination session at the university. The medicine students and those studying math and physics will not have to do the military service while they study.

Currently, the students are exempted from doing military service during the first year of studies and are then enrolled. After one year of military service, these return to lecture rooms, but this affects the continuity of the education process.
