A 26-year-old man who was struck by a train on the Balti-Ungheni route on Monday evening is alive, but lost his leg.
A first aid SMURD team rushed the man found on the tracks to the hospital. Sources with the Balti Police told IPN the man was apparently drunk.
The police are investigating the case as a possible suicide, as the victim's sister told them her brother had suicidal thoughts.
