The man who was hit mortally by a train last week was identified. This is a 25-year-old man from Vatra commune. The information was confirmed for IPN by the press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati.

Contacted by IPN for details, social assistant of Vatra Zinaida Frija said the young man wasn’t under the supervision of the social assistance service. His parents said their son suffered from depression and left home on the night of the accident.

The man was struck fatally by a train near the Ghidighici railway station at about 2am. He didn’t have identification papers on him. The body was taken to the Medical Examinations Center. The examination results are not yet ready. Legal action was taken in this case.
