A man aged 30 was shot dead in an apartment in Buiucani distrust of Chisinau last night. The police found the pistol held legally by the suspect in the apartment, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, a person called the 112 service and said that gunshots were heard in an apartment building in Buiucani. A squad of the Patrol and Operational Reaction Battalion of the Chisinau Police Division travelled to the scene and found the body of the 30-year-old man with three shot wounds.

The police shortly arrested a suspect aged 32. The victim was shot by the suspect as a result of a conflict between the two. They both were under the influence of alcohol, according to the police. 

The suspect was arrested for 72 hours and faces up to 15 years in jail for deliberate murder.

The young man who died is the son of political analyst Anatol Taranu.
