Young man severely injured in traffic accident
A young man has been admitted to intensive care at the Emergency Hospital after sustaining severe injuries in a traffic accident this morning in Chisinau.
Doctor coordinator Anatol Proca of the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident occurred at around 6:00 on Muncesti Street. The driver, a 23-year-old man, lost control of his Lada car and slammed a tree on the curbside. The victim suffered multiple injuries, including head trauma, cerebral contusion, and basilar skull fracture.
Also this morning, a male vegetable merchant at the Central Market, thought to be about 55, experienced a brain stroke and was driven to hospital.
Another nameless man in his early 50s was found on Friday lying unconscious in the street after suffering a brain stroke.
A drunk 26-year-old man was admitted to hospital after being stabbed by his neighbor.
The collision between a trolleybus on route 28 and a Leova-tagged Ford in the intersection of the streets Bucuresti and Leo Tolstoy resulted in three female passengers sustaining various injuries, from brain concussion to broken bones.
A 44-year-old male motorcyclist collided with a Volkswagen Polo on Alecu Russo Street, suffering brain concussion and mandibular fracture. Two other bikers called the ambulance to their houses, complaining they had been hurt in traffic accidents.
Over the past day and night the Chisinau Emergency Service recorded 684 calls, including 81 cases of trauma, 20 cases of acute viroses, and 12 brain strokes.
