A man aged 23 is struggling for life after receiving serious injuries in a road accident in Chisinau's Rascani district this morning. Paulina Yakimovski, senior PR specialist at the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo the accident happened on Studentilor St at about 4am. A Mercedes driven by a 25-year-old man struck a pedestrian. The driver did not stop to help, but was soon identified and arrested. The police presume the driver was under the influence. The victim was rushed to the Emergency Hospital in a coma. A ZIL truck ran into two cars parked on the Chisinau-Orhei road. The drivers of the two cars were outside, in front of one of the vehicles. The driver of a Mercedes was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of an Opel suffered minor wounds. A BMW struck a 11-year-old bicyclist in Cimislia town. The boy received minor injuries. A pedestrian aged 46 was hit by an Opel in the municipality of Balti. He suffered fractures of the skull and femur. Eight persons were injured in six traffic accidents in Moldova on July 7.
