A young man from Cosernita village of Criuleni district was mortally struck by a car driven by an inebriated man on his 21st birthday. According to the Traffic Police Division, the accident happened at about 3.00 last night on the Chisinau– Criuleni road, in Boscana village. The breath tests showed the driver aged 30 was under the influence. The struck young man died shortly after he was taken to the Criuleni district hospital. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, mayor of Cosernita Tudor Tipa said the young man was married and lived in the neighboring village Boscana. His relatives said the tragedy struck when he went to see off his friends after celebrating his birthday. The driver was arrested for 72 hours. If he is found guilty, he will serve three to seven years in jail.
