An 18-year-old man died when the car by which he travelled skidded off the road and crashed into a tree on the Cărpineni-Mingir road in Hâncești district in the morning of May 23.

Hâncești Police Inspectorate press officer Cristina Vicol has told IPN that the accident occurred at about 5am. It was preliminarily determined that the driver lost control of the car and left the road. The impact was so powerful that the driver died on the spot.

The man was alone in the car. A police investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.

Another man aged 22 died yesterday evening on the way to the hospital after the motorcycle he rode at high speed skidded off the road and ran into the parapet of a bridge near Vishniovca village. Cristina Ciobanu, press officer of the Cantemir Police Inspectorate, has told IPN that the young man drove under the influence of alcohol and didn’t have a driver’s license.
