A young man was killed and three persons, including two minors, received serious injuries in a traffic accident in Ialoveni district on Sunday. Tudor Capatana, of the Traffic Police Department's PR Service, told Info-Prim Neo that the tragedy happened on the Chisinau-Hancesti route, not far from the intersection leading to Ialoveni town. Driving a Mercedes E-220 car, a 23-year-old man from Piatra-Alba village stopped the car on the right side of the road and went out. At this moment, a Sitroen coming from behind at high speed struck the car and the man, who died on the spot. A three-year-old boy and a baby girl aged only one month, who were in the car, sustained injuries and were rushed to the Mother and Child Center. The driver who caused the accident left the scene, but was soon identified. He also suffered different traumas. A seven-year-old child received bodily injuries after a Mercedes driven by a woman aged 47 overturned in Dobruja village. A Volkswagen-Vento driven by a 24-year-old man hit two pedestrians at the intersection of Ion Dumeniuc and Milescu Spataru streets in Chisinau. The victims aged 24 received cranial-cerebral traumas. Two Opel-Astra collided with each other on Calea Iesilor St in the capital city. A 55-year-old female passenger of one of the cars sustained a cranial-cerebral trauma. Twenty-eight persons were killed and 267 injured in car accidents in Moldova this year.
