The man aged 18 who was admitted to the intensive care section after the home fire in Mereșeni village of Hâncești district died in the hospital last night. The information was confirmed for IPN by the press officer of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Cristina Stratulat.
The young man was the third victim found in the house destroyed by fire. The carbonized bodies of a girl aged 15 and her uncle aged 17 were found in the house. The three had signs of violence on the bodies. It was later determined that they were hit by a hard object. The police arrested a suspect aged 23 from another village, who came to visit the young people from Mereșeni.
When being questioned by the police, the suspect admitted his guilt, saying he became acquainted with the victims through social networking sites. On November 24, he went to visit these and they drank alcoholic beverages together. A disagreement degenerated into a quarrel and the suspect hit the three with an ax and then set the house on fire.
The Prosecutor General’s Office started a criminal case over murder.
