Young man hospitalised with severe electric shock burns

A young man has been hospitalised after he suffered severe skin burns following an electric shock. Doctor-coordinator of the Emergency Service, Anatol Proca, told Info-Prim Neo that the 26-year-old man, native of Vadul lui Voda town, was electrocuted when he touched non-insulated electric wires. The accident happened in an auxiliary room of the victim’s house. The young person was admitted to the Burns Centre with I-III degree burns of the face, neck, hands and in a shock condition. An unidentified man in his 50s was found in the back of “Flacara” Cinema in Chisinau’s Buiucani district with general hypothermia. This morning, a 13-year-old girl who was crossing regularly Cuza-Voda Blvd was hit by an Orhei-registered Mercedes vehicle. The girl was admitted to “Valentin Ignatenco” hospital with brain concussion and the fracture of both feet. Mumps continues to strike Chisinau residents. Yesterday and last night alone, emergency service doctors registered 57 cases of this illness that can result in undesirable complications. In the same period, 102 children and 47 grown-ups complained of acute viral infections and 6 persons suffered brain concussions. Emergency Service doctors have registered a total number of 839 calls.
