Young man hospitalised with knife wound
A man was hospitalised on Friday with a knife wound to the shoulder. Silvia Babara, doctor-coordinator of the Chisinau Emergency Service, told Info-Prim Neo, that the man, 25, was found in an apartment on Neaga Street. The ambulance was called at around 11 PM. The police are currently investigating the case.
This morning, a man was found in critical condition near the Sangera Town Hall. The man, 68, apparently suffered a heart attack.
Over the past 24 hours, 44 teams on ambulances responded to 870 calls. In the period when the Chisinau Emergency Service was lending assistance only to the inhabitants of the municipality, the number of calls was by 300 to 400 less. Because of the limited number of ambulances, they are often late to their destination, which makes the patients’ relatives get angry and threaten the doctors sometimes, Silvia Babara says.
On January 25, Emergency Service doctors registered 134 cases of acute respiratory diseases and 29 cases of mumps, 3 brain strokes and 3 heart attacks. People infected with mumps are being admitted to the hospitals for infectious diseases for adults and children, to the 2 wards opened in the hospital no. 4, to the specialised section of the hospital no. 5, a section of the Codru Health Centre for Venereal Diseases. Another ward will be opened on Monday at the Lung Centre on Grenoble Street.
