A 26-year-old man from Edinet district was sentenced to life imprisonment for beating to death a former schoolmate last September. The two friends drank alcohol at the culprit’s home and then started to quarrel. The young man beat the victim until he died, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office. Seeing that his friend was dead, the man set the body on fire and then buried it in the yard. In several days, he reburied his friend in the local cemetery. Both the victim and the sentenced man have been earlier convicted of a theft committed in concert. The man will serve life in a closed-type penitentiary. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
