A man aged 25 from Balti municipality and his family during two months had been threatened with death by three persons who asked from him an alleged debt of about 60,000 lei, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, at the start of September the victim was kidnapped by the suspects as he refused to give the money. The young man was taken by force by a car to a wood near the municipality of Balti, where he was threated again.

Recently, the suspects aged between 21 and 23, from Balti municipality and Sangerei district, were arrested in front of a shopping center in Balti after they received the marked money – 16,000 lei - from the victim. These were caught in the act of taking the victim into the car for torturing him.

In the suspects’ car, the police found the marked money, a pneumatic pistol, 11 cartridges and mobile phones used to commit the offense. The culprits face up to 13 years behind bars.
