One person died and other 8 were injured in Sunday’s traffic accidents. According to the inspector of the Road Traffic Safety, Administrative Supervision and PR Service of Chisinau Road Police, Ion Roscovanu, the accident with a tragic ending happened on Petricani Street. A Ford-Transit car hit a young man, aged about 25-28, who died on the spot. He wasn’t unidentified yet. The young man was 1.7 meters high, had long brown hair, seems to be homeless, barefooted and wearing blue jeans. Another serious accident happened at 1:20 at the crossing of Ion Dumeniuc and Milescu Spatarul streets. A young man aged 25 has lost the steering of his VAZ-2105 car and hit an electric pillar. He was hospitalized in the Emergency Hospital with cerebral concussion, mental shock, fractures, traumatic shock and coma of II-III degrees. Two Toyota cars crashed at the crossing of the streets V. Alecsandri and Columna. As result of the accident, the driver of one of the cars and two passengers of the other were injured. Another Toyota car was involved in an accident at the crossing of Bariera Sculeni and Calarasi streets. The car hit violently a Ford Escort, its driver suffered mental shock, and two passengers aged 21 and 22, of the Toyota car suffered cranial-cerebral traumas. Over the past 24 hours, the road inspectors have identified 33 drunken drivers, 55 speedy drivers and 28 neglecting semaphores. 18 accidents were registered, resulting in one casualty and 8 injured. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, in 32 traffic accidents happened on the Moldovan roads 5 persons lost their lives and 34 were injured.
