A man aged 22 from Donduseni district was attacked by four individuals with medical masks on faces on Stefan cel Mare Blvd in Chisinau. He was beaten and dispossessed of the bag where there were about 86,000 lei and over US$9,000. The aggressors drove away, but the police identified them, IPN reports.

The Chisinau Police Division said the suspects, aged between 17 and 22, are from Criuleni district. These study at universities in Chisinau. When being questioned by the police, the suspects admitted to being involved in the robbery.

During searches, the police found only a part of the stolen money – about 7,000 lei and US$2,000. The other money was spent. The suspects were placed under arrest for 72 hours and are investigated for robbery. They face 12 to 15 years in jail.
