A 23-year-old man from Floresti has been arrested on suspicion of recruiting and forcing minor girls into prostitution, the Chisinau Police said.

A police raid at a home in Chisinau revealed three minor girls coming from the capital's suburbs. According to the police, the girls were from poor families and had been an easy prey for the alleged pimp, who would sell them for 400 lei an act.

The man has been arrested for 30 days on charges of human trafficking and trafficking in children, which could land him for up to 20 years in jail.
