Third-year students of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the State University of Moldova mounted the fourth exhibitor “Publicity Laundry”. In the Faculty’s hall, the young communicators posted tens of photos of inaccurate announcements collected through Chisinau during two months with the aim of sensitizing society and the public authorities so that the identified mistakes are corrected and no other mistakes are made.
Veronica Zubcu, student of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, has told IPN that the mounting of this exhibition became a tradition already. During two months, the students gathered all kinds of mistakes, identifying especially grammatical and stylistic mistakes.
The students want the authorities to feel ashamed when they are shown how many mistakes are made in advertisements placed in Chisinau. The exhibit was staged by 30 students. Veronica Zubcu said they found even more mistakes that they anticipated and after the exhibition would make a compilation of announcements to send it to the authorities that are directly responsible for the publicity sector.
According to Veronica Zubcu, many mistakes in advertisements are committed because both the authorities and society are indifferent.
The exhibition will continue until November 25.
