A young bison was born at the natural reserve “Domneasca” Forest on June 1. He weighs 50 kg, is healthy and active, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva”.

The young bison is the sixth member of the bison family in Moldova. For a period, he will grow in an isolated area of 3-4 hectares so that the males weighing over 900 kg cannot attack him.  

The first bison in Moldova were taken to “Domneasca Forest” 10 years ago. Besides the young, there are now three female and two male bison in the resave that occupies an area of 300 hectares.
